China Company Verification FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about Unified Social Credit Codes, business licenses, SAMR data, litigation risk, and how QINCheck reports work.
Unified Social Credit Code (USCC)
What is the Unified Social Credit Code (USCC)?
The USCC is an 18-digit identifier issued to every mainland Chinese entity. It encodes the registration authority, organization type, geographic region, entity sequence, and checksum digit, replacing older registration numbers.
How do I check if a USCC is valid?
Verify it has 18 characters, run the checksum, and confirm it appears in SAMR/GSXT records. QINCheck runs all validations automatically when you search.
Can the USCC be faked?
Yes—printable licenses can be altered. However, forged codes typically fail checksum validation or do not exist in official registries.
Do all Chinese companies have a USCC?
Yes. Since 2015 every registered entity must use the 18-digit Unified Social Credit Code.
Chinese Business Licenses
What is shown on a Chinese business license?
It lists the USCC, Chinese legal name, company type, legal representative, registered capital, establishment date, operating period, address, business scope, registration authority, and a QR code pointing to the official registry.
How can I verify a business license?
Scan the QR code or search the USCC in QINCheck. Every field should match exactly. Any mismatch is a red flag.
Why is business scope important?
The scope defines what activities the company is legally allowed to perform. If a supplier claims to manufacture but the scope lists only trading or consulting, it is a major risk indicator.
SAMR, GSXT & Registry Data
What is SAMR?
SAMR (Market Supervision Administration) is the Chinese authority that manages business registration, licensing, and compliance enforcement.
Why does SAMR/GSXT data differ between sources?
Provincial registries update at different speeds, and annual reports are self-filed. QINCheck timestamps every data pull to show currency.
How often is company data updated?
Status changes often propagate within days, annual reports are filed once per year, litigation/enforcement updates daily to weekly, and registry change history updates whenever the company files corrections.
Litigation, Risk & Enforcement
What is an “Executed Person” (被执行人)?
It means the company or its legal representative is subject to a court enforcement order, often due to unpaid debts—a high-risk indicator.
What does “Risk Lawsuit List” mean?
It indicates the company is involved in ongoing litigation. Review case types, amounts, and dates to judge severity.
Does a lawsuit mean a company is unsafe?
Not always. Industries like construction or logistics face disputes frequently. Evaluate the number of cases, types, recency, and repetition.
What are court notices?
Official announcements published by Chinese courts regarding hearings, enforcement steps, or case progress.
QINCheck Report Data
What data sources does QINCheck use?
SAMR/GSXT, Chinese courts, enforcement databases, annual reports, penalty registries, IP databases, and industry datasets.
How accurate is QINCheck’s data?
All primary data originates from official registries. We do not fabricate or infer information—everything is sourced from authoritative feeds.
What’s included in a QINCheck report?
Registration summary, ownership structure, executives, annual filings, litigation/enforcement indicators, penalties, change history, social security stats, trademarks, patents, and CSV export.
Do you offer PDF downloads?
No. Reports are interactive in the dashboard with CSV export capability.
How many credits does a report use?
One credit per full report. Previews are free.
